About Cutting Tools in Sri Lanka
This range is about separating material cleanly and cutting threads accurately. It covers bolt cutters and cable cutters in lengths from small hand sizes up to 42 inches, wire rope cutters, heavy-duty compact cable cutters, tin snips and aviation snips in straight, left and right patterns, utility knives and blades, hacksaw frames, file sets including needle files, and metric and imperial tap and die sets.
Length is leverage. A 42-inch bolt cutter will go through material that an 18-inch pair will only dent, and forcing an undersized cutter is how jaws get sprung and edges get chipped. Buy for the largest thing you cut regularly, not the average. Cable cutters are shaped quite differently from bolt cutters — the curved jaws gather the strands and shear them rather than crushing the cable flat, which matters when the cable has to go into a lug afterwards. Wire rope cutters do the same job for steel rope, where a hacksaw would leave a frayed end that will not pass through a thimble.
Aviation snips are colour-coded by direction for a reason: straight, left-cutting and right-cutting heads each follow a curve the others fight. Anyone doing regular sheet metal, ducting or gutter work ends up with all three rather than one.
Tap and die sets cut and repair threads — forming a new thread in a drilled hole, cleaning up a damaged one, or making a stud fit again. They save a great many parts that would otherwise be scrapped, and for a workshop the set usually pays for itself the first time a thread strips on something expensive.
Fabricators, electricians, sheet metal workers, roofers, mechanics, machine shops, construction crews and maintenance teams all buy from this range, along with hardware retailers stocking the common sizes.
Genuine Harden stock supplied through our distributorship, with prices shown openly on every size and island-wide delivery. If you are unsure which cutter suits the material and diameter you work with, message us on WhatsApp and describe it — buying one size up is usually cheaper than buying twice.
