Caulking guns get used constantly and are badly under-appreciated. A smooth, controlled bead of sealant around a window, a shower tray or a skirting is what keeps water where it belongs, and a gun with a decent thrust ratio and a clean release makes that bead far easier to lay than a cheap one that jerks.

Suction lifters are for handling glass, polished tile and smooth panels safely — a large sheet of glass has no edge you can grip, and a twin or triple-head lifter turns an awkward two-person struggle into a controlled lift. Paint mixer paddles chuck straight into a rotary hammer or drill and mix a full bucket of paint, tile adhesive or filler far more thoroughly than a stick ever will.
