Single Head Suction Lifter (ØD118mm)

The single head is the compact one. One 118mm cup, one handle, and a lever that pulls the cup down to create the vacuum. It suits smaller panes, mirrors, sheet metal panels, vehicle windscreens, tiles and stone slabs — anything with a smooth, non-porous face that needs positioning rather than carrying a long distance.

Beyond lifting, the most common daily use is positioning. A sheet of glass being eased into a frame, a large tile being placed on a floor, a slab being aligned — all need small controlled movements that fingers on an edge cannot make.

The body is ABS, chosen because it is light. Weight matters on a tool held out at arm's length against a vertical pane.

Now the safety, which is genuinely important and often ignored. A suction cup is holding by air pressure alone, and that hold depends entirely on the seal. Check that the surface is clean, dry, smooth and non-porous, and that the cup is undamaged. Do not use one on textured, curved or dirty glass, on porous stone, or on anything the cup cannot seal against — it will hold just long enough to make you trust it. Set the lever and test the hold with a firm pull before you take the weight. Never work under a suspended load, and never use a suction lifter as a permanent anchor or to support a load over anyone.

Cups lose their grip as the rubber ages and hardens. Inspect it, and replace the lifter when the face is no longer soft and pliable.

The spec notes these are sold in pairs, which reflects how they are actually used — two lifters on a large sheet give control that one cannot.
