A single cup is a pivot. A large or heavy sheet held on one cup will turn about it, and controlling that with your wrist while a pane of glass swings is how panes get broken and hands get cut. Two cups in line fix the orientation of the sheet as well as taking its weight, so the glass goes where you point it.

That makes this the size for larger panes, big mirrors, windscreens, wide sheet metal panels and large-format tiles — sheets big enough that rotation is the real problem rather than mass.

The body is aluminium alloy, which is stiffer than plastic across the span between two cups. That stiffness matters: a flexible body lets the two cups work independently, which defeats the point of having two.

The cups are 118mm.

The safety rules are the same as for any suction lifter and they are worth repeating because the tool feels more capable than it is. The hold is air pressure and nothing else. The surface must be clean, dry, smooth and non-porous, and the cups undamaged and soft. Textured glass, curved glass, porous stone, dusty or oily surfaces — none of these give a reliable seal, and the failure mode is that it holds long enough for you to commit. Set both levers, then test with a firm pull before taking the weight. Never stand under a suspended sheet, never use a suction lifter as a rigging anchor, and never leave a load hanging on one.

Check the cups regularly; rubber hardens with age and a hard cup does not seal.
