SDS-PLUS Paint Mixer (600x100x10)

The 100mm paddle moves considerably more material per revolution, so a full bucket of render, tile adhesive, screed or self-levelling compound comes to an even consistency in a fraction of the time the smaller paddle takes. On a tiling or rendering job where you mix batch after batch all day, that is a real part of the working time.

The 600mm shaft is what lets you mix in a deep bucket or a drum without the machine sitting in the material. With a short shaft in a tall container you either cannot reach the bottom — leaving unmixed material there, which is exactly the problem you are trying to solve — or you get the chuck and the machine's nose down into the mix, which is how tools die.

The shank is SDS-Plus, fitting straight into a rotary hammer without a chuck or adaptor.

The critical instruction, and it applies more forcefully to a bigger paddle: rotation only, never hammer mode. An SDS machine hammers as well as turns, and hammering with a mixer fitted pounds the shank, destroys it and can damage the tool holder. Switch to rotation-only before starting, and if the machine has no rotation-only mode, do not use it to mix.

Also be realistic about the machine. A 100mm paddle in a full bucket of stiff render loads a drill heavily, and a light machine will overheat or stall. This paddle wants a decent rotary hammer, used at low speed. Low speed is not only about the tool: mixing fast whips air into the material, and air in adhesive, render or screed weakens it.

Carbon steel with zinc plating to resist corrosion. Clean it immediately after use, because cured material on a large paddle both unbalances it and is very hard to remove.
