More teeth means each one removes less material per pass. The bite is smaller, the cut is slower, and the surface left behind is markedly cleaner. It also means far less tear-out, which is the splintering that happens where teeth exit the material, and tear-out is what ruins visible work. On veneered board, melamine, laminate and plywood, a coarse blade lifts and chips the surface layer along the cut line, and no amount of sanding puts a veneer back.

That makes this the blade for cross cutting, for sheet material, and for anything where the cut edge will be seen or will need to fit precisely against something else. Kitchen and wardrobe carcasses, shopfitting panels, laminate worktops, door trimming, and finish carpentry generally.

The trade is real and worth stating. Smaller gullets carry less waste, so this blade will clog and slow in thick or wet timber where the coarse blade would sail through, and pushing it harder to compensate builds heat, which is what takes the temper out of a blade body and lets it wander. If you are ripping structural timber all day, use the 36 tooth blade and keep this one for the work it is meant for.

Two practical notes for clean cuts: support sheet material properly so it cannot flex as the blade passes, and cut with the good face downward on a hand held saw, because the teeth enter from below and any tear-out appears on the upper face.
