T.C.T Saw Blade For Aluminum (350x120)

Cutting aluminium on a saw designed for timber is dangerous, and the reason is worth understanding. A wood blade's teeth are raked forward so they dig into the material and pull themselves in, which is exactly what you want in timber. Aluminium is soft, so those aggressive teeth do not shave it, they grab it. The blade snatches, and either the workpiece is torn out of the clamp and thrown, or the saw climbs out of the cut, or the blade jams and stalls. Any of those with a 350mm disc at full speed is a serious incident.

A blade specified for aluminium is made the opposite way. A very high tooth count means each tooth takes a tiny bite, and the tooth geometry is designed to shear rather than dig, so the blade shaves its way through instead of grabbing. That is what the 120 teeth on this blade are for.

Three things go with it, and none of them is optional. Use a lubricant, a cutting wax or paste on the blade, because aluminium is sticky and welds itself to the carbide as swarf, and a loaded blade heats and grabs. Clamp the section properly, always, since aluminium extrusion is light and will move. And wear a full face shield with eye protection under it: aluminium chips leave a saw at high speed, they are sharp, and they are hot.

Never use it on steel. A blade for non-ferrous metal will lose its teeth on steel section.

At 350mm this is the largest blade here, for the bigger chop and mitre saws used on curtain walling, window and door fabrication and heavy extrusion.
