The width is the reason. Twenty millimetres is broad enough to cut a useful line and remove material at a reasonable rate, and narrow enough that the hammer's energy is still concentrated enough to bite into hard concrete. Wider blades trade cutting power for coverage, narrower ones the opposite, and 20mm sits where most work happens.

It is the chisel for cutting a chase in a block or render wall, for trimming and squaring an opening after a point chisel has broken it out, for removing render and rough plaster, for cutting away concrete around a service, and for general breaking up where control matters more than sheer speed.

Technique makes a large difference with a flat chisel and it is not obvious. Work at an angle to the surface rather than straight into it, roughly thirty degrees, so the blade cuts underneath the material and lifts it away. Driven straight in, the chisel simply buries itself and the machine bounces. And always work towards a free edge, so the material being cut has somewhere to break out to. Starting in the middle of an unbroken surface is slow and hard on the tool; opening one edge first and then working back to it is fast.

Keep the machine in hammer only mode with rotation off.

The spec describes a diamond edge, which refers to the shape it is ground to rather than to any diamond material in it. The shaft is chrome vanadium, heat treated and tempered, on a 14mm SDS-PLUS shank, 250mm long with a 20mm blade.
