Hole Saw Arbor (32-64)

An arbor is not a universal fitting. Hole saws are made with different thread sizes in their centre boss depending on diameter, small saws taking a smaller thread and larger saws a bigger one, and an arbor is made to suit a particular band. This one covers 32 to 64mm, which takes in the 32mm bi-metal saw we list and the middle of the wood hole saw range.

Our standalone bi-metal saws, however, go up to 76, 102, 127 and 152mm, and those are past this arbor's range. Do not order one of the large saws with this arbor and expect it to fit, because it will not. We do stock the larger arbor those sizes need; it simply is not listed on the site yet. So if you are buying a 76mm saw or bigger, message us and we will supply the correct arbor with it rather than letting you find out at the wall. It is worth a moment's conversation before ordering, because a large hole saw and the wrong arbor is a wasted trip.

Like the smaller arbor, this one carries its pilot drill in a set screw so the drill can be replaced when it dulls, which on a pilot doing the work of centring a large saw happens sooner than people expect.

The arbor also takes the load of the whole cut, so it is worth keeping the thread and the shoulder clean; grit under the shoulder lets the saw sit slightly off square and the hole comes out oval.
