That 150mm of extension is not a convenience feature, it is the difference between shifting a tight wheel nut and not. Wheel nuts are habitually over-tightened by impact wrenches, and a short wrench at the roadside simply will not move them. Extended, this one gives you a genuine lever.

It carries two double-ended socket heads covering 17/19mm and 21/23mm — four sizes between them, which spans cars, vans, three-wheelers and many light commercials. The 23mm in particular is worth noting, since it appears on larger vehicles that a standard car wrench does not cover.

The L shape is the traditional wheel wrench form: the short arm sits on the nut and the long arm gives the leverage, and you can put your weight behind it in a way you cannot with a cross wrench in a tight space beside a wheel arch.

Forged chrome vanadium, heat treated and chrome plated. Forged and heat treated is what a wheel wrench needs, because the sockets take high torque and a soft socket spreads and rounds the nut — and a rounded wheel nut at the side of a road at night is a genuinely bad situation.

Two practical points. Make sure the telescopic section is fully extended and locked before you apply force; a partly extended wrench can collapse under load and put you on the ground. And use it to loosen and run down only — set the final torque with a torque wrench, because over-tightening stretches wheel studs and warps brake discs, and under-tightening loses wheels.
