A short, stiff nozzle puts the jet exactly where you point it and does not wave about as you move your hand. That suits close work: blowing swarf off a machined part, clearing dust from a component before assembly, drying a part after washing, clearing a filter or a jet, and blowing water out of panel gaps and door shuts after a wash. Anywhere you are working at arm's length on something in front of you, a short nozzle is easier to aim and less likely to catch on things.

The tube is cast stainless steel, which resists the corrosion that comes from the moisture compressed air always carries — a plain steel nozzle rusts from the inside, and the rust then comes out onto whatever you are cleaning. The handle is built for mechanical strength, since blow guns are dropped constantly.

Compressed air deserves more respect than it usually gets in a workshop, so a few points worth stating properly. Air at working pressure will drive grit and metal particles into skin and eyes at real speed, so eye protection is required for you and for anyone standing nearby. Never point a blow gun at a person, even as a joke — air forced into the body through a cut or a body opening causes serious internal injury, and this has killed people. Do not use one to blow dust off your clothing or hair. And remember that whatever you blow off a part is now in the air you are breathing, which matters for brake dust, old machining swarf and anything containing silica.

The inlet suits the standard Japanese-type quick couplers in the Harden air range, so it plugs straight into the same hose as the impact wrenches and spray guns.
