Magnetic Welding Holder (25LBS/3"/75mm, CS-45)

The pull rating is what to choose on. 25lb is enough to hold angle iron, box section, light channel, plate up to moderate thickness and most bracket work steady against gravity and against your hand nudging it into place. Below that, the 10lb holder is for sheet and small parts. Above it, you are into structural sections where the weight of the material itself needs more magnet.

It holds at 45, 90 and 135 degrees. Ninety covers square corners, T-joints and frame corners. Forty-five is for mitred corners and diagonal bracing. A hundred and thirty-five handles the outside of an obtuse angle, which is where conventional clamps have nothing to grip.

The point of any of them is the same: both hands free. Holding two pieces of steel square with one hand while striking an arc with the other is how out-of-square frames get made, and a magnet removes the problem for a few hundred rupees.

Use them in pairs. One holder sets the angle but allows the joint to rotate about it; two, spaced apart along the joint, lock it properly. Most welders end up with four.

Keep the faces clean — spatter and grinding dust cling to a magnet and prevent it seating flat, and a holder that is not flat gives you an angle that is not right. Keep it back from the arc, because heat weakens a permanent magnet and enough will kill it. And tack both ends of a joint before running a full bead: a cooling weld pulls hard, and no magnet will resist that.

The body is carbon steel around a permanent magnet, so there is nothing to operate and nothing to break.
