The socket section is solid on its own: eighteen 1/2" sockets from 8 to 30mm, a 72-tooth ratchet handle, an extension bar, a 10" sliding bar for steady pull, a universal joint and a ratchet wrench. That alone would make a respectable set.

What is unusual is what surrounds it. Twelve combination spanners from 8 to 22mm — enough to hold a bolt head while you turn the nut, which sockets cannot do alone. The metal case matters more than it sounds. A tool set in a soft bag or a blow-moulded plastic tray gets emptied into a drawer within a month and stops being a set. A metal case with a place for each item is what keeps it complete, and it survives being thrown into a vehicle.

The buyers are maintenance technicians who need to arrive at an unknown job with everything, service vehicles and site kits, small workshops, facilities and building maintenance teams, and hotel or factory engineering departments. It is also the set people buy for a home when they want one box that covers plumbing, furniture, electrical and vehicle jobs without thinking about it.

Be clear about what it is not. Seventy-seven pieces spread across that many tool types means breadth, not depth — the socket range stops at 30mm and there are no deep sockets or spark plug sockets. A garage working on vehicles all day wants the 89 or 94-piece socket sets instead, and probably both.
