3/4" Digital Torque Wrench

With a click wrench you set a figure, pull, and wait for the click. You have no idea what is happening until it happens, which means you cannot tell a fastener that is tightening normally from one that is binding on a damaged thread — and on the second one, the click comes early because friction has absorbed the torque, leaving the joint under-clamped while the number says it is correct. Watching the reading climb on a display lets you see the difference. It also makes it far easier to work to an angle-plus-torque specification, and to stop precisely without pulling through.

This is a 3/4" drive wrench, which places it firmly in heavy work: truck and bus hub and axle nuts, large driveline and differential fasteners, heavy plant and earthmoving equipment, structural and crane bolting, and industrial machinery. Three-quarter inch drive exists because the half-inch square has a torque ceiling, and the fasteners here sit above it — pushing a half-inch drive into this territory twists drive squares off without warning.

The head is a 24-tooth chrome molybdenum ratchet. That coarse count is a deliberate choice for heavy drive sizes rather than a lesser specification: fewer, larger teeth each carry far more load, which is what the mechanism needs at these torques. The fifteen degree swing arc that comes with it is rarely a problem, because heavy fasteners are seldom in the cramped spaces where a fine arc matters. Accuracy is ±3%, and the handle is nylon.
