A telescopic ratchet solves the oldest problem in the box: the handle you have is the wrong length for the job in front of you. This one extends from 30.5cm to 44.5cm, which is a genuinely useful range — nearly half as long again at full extension.
Both ends of that range earn their place. Collapsed at 305mm it is a normal-length ratchet that fits into an engine bay, works in a confined space and does not foul on everything around it. Extended to 445mm it becomes a leverage tool: the extra length multiplies the force you can apply on a tight fastener, which means the bolt that would not move at short length very often moves at full extension without you reaching for another tool at all.
That is the practical case. Instead of cracking a bolt loose with a breaker bar and then swapping to a ratchet to wind it out, one tool does both. On a job under a vehicle, where every tool change means coming out from underneath, that saves real time.
There is an honest limit to state alongside it. This is still a 72-tooth ratchet mechanism, and the extra leverage from the extended handle is applied straight through those fine teeth. Seventy-two teeth means small teeth, and small teeth carry less individual load. Extending the handle to its full length and then heaving on a badly seized fastener is asking a fine mechanism to take breaker-bar loads, which is how ratchets are destroyed. Use the extension for firm, controlled leverage; for the genuinely stuck ones, a solid bar with no mechanism in it is still the right tool.
The 72-tooth head gives a five degree swing arc against fifteen for a coarse ratchet, which is what lets it work in tight spaces. Quick release drops the socket at a button press.
It is drop forged from tempered and hardened chrome vanadium steel, with an ergonomic rubber handle, and comes on a hang card.
The buyers are vehicle, commercial vehicle and bus mechanics, plant and agricultural fitters, roadside and mobile mechanics who cannot carry everything, maintenance workshops, and hardware dealers supplying garages.
Keep the telescopic section clean, since grit in the slide is what makes it stiff and eventually sloppy, and keep the mechanism lightly oiled. Never use a hand ratchet on an impact wrench. Message us on WhatsApp for a price.
