1/2" Quick Release Ratchet Wrench (Straight shank)

Half-inch drive is the workshop standard, and this straight-shank quick release ratchet is the tool most of a vehicle gets taken apart with. The 1/2" square carries the torque that 17, 19, 21 and 22mm fasteners need — suspension, engine mountings, hubs, driveline, chassis — which is why it is the drive size every general workshop builds its set around.
The 72-tooth mechanism is the specification that matters most in daily use. Tooth count sets the swing arc, which is how far the handle has to move before the pawl catches the next tooth and the socket actually turns. Seventy-two teeth means a five degree arc. A coarse 24-tooth ratchet needs fifteen degrees. Underneath a vehicle, wedged between a chassis rail and a suspension arm, five degrees of handle movement is often all you have — and in that situation a fine ratchet keeps working while a coarse one simply clicks without advancing anything. Anyone who has fought a bolt in a confined space understands immediately why the number is worth paying for.
There is a trade to be honest about. Finer teeth are smaller teeth, and smaller teeth carry less load individually than coarse ones. A 72-tooth mechanism is not the tool for the initial crack on a badly seized fastener — that is what a breaker bar or the L-type wrench in this range is for, since neither has a mechanism to damage. Use the solid bar to break it loose, then the ratchet to wind it out. That habit will make a good ratchet last for years.
Quick release means a button press drops the socket off rather than levering it, and it holds sockets securely until asked — which matters working overhead.
It is drop forged from tempered and hardened chrome vanadium steel, with an ergonomic rubber handle and a straight shank. The straight shank is the conventional pattern: the handle runs in line with the head, which gives the most direct feel of what the fastener is doing and suits general work best.
The buyers are vehicle, commercial vehicle and bus mechanics, plant and agricultural fitters, engineering and maintenance workshops, tyre fitters, and hardware dealers supplying the motor trade.
Keep it clean and lightly oiled, never put a pipe over the handle, and never use a hand ratchet on an impact wrench. Message us on WhatsApp for a price, or for it with a socket set.
