The body is alloy aluminium, and at 63mm that specification does its hardest work. Shearing this much material takes substantial force, and any flex in the handles is force lost to bending the tool instead of driving the blade through the wall. The blade is stainless steel. A few points specific to this size. Seat the pipe right back into the jaw and check it is square before you commit, because an angled cut on 63mm pipe leaves a gap you cannot correct in the fitting. Use both hands and a single continuous squeeze — nibbling at pipe this thick leaves a stepped, ridged end that will not push home. Support the pipe so it is not twisting as you cut. And keep spare blades: a blade that has done a lot of 63mm work is well past its best long before it looks worn, and pushing on with it costs you pipe ends.
