The 25mm over a 100mm driver clears an obstruction, gets past a raised edge, or reaches a screw set just far enough back that a shorter driver puts your hand against the work. It is a small difference that decides a surprising number of jobs.

Six millimetres is a broad blade, and broad blades are for the larger slotted screws — machine screws, panel and cover fixings, equipment and machinery fasteners.

There is something worth saying about slotted screws generally at this size. Large slotted heads take real torque, and slotted is the least forgiving head type under torque because nothing centres the driver for you. Cross-head screws pull the tip towards the middle; a slot does not. So on a large tight slotted screw, everything depends on the blade filling the slot properly and on you keeping firm pressure straight down the axis. If the blade lifts even slightly, it skids out and takes the corners of the slot with it.

The blade is Cr-V 6150, tempered — a chromium-vanadium spring steel, chromium for hardness and wear resistance to hold the tip's square corners, vanadium for grain refinement and the toughness that prevents chipping. The handle is moulded TPR, gripping well in oily hands.

Three habits. Keep the driver square to the screw and pressed into it. Match the blade to the slot rather than using the nearest driver — that one choice decides whether a screw comes out or has to be drilled.

And treat the handle as grip and nothing more: TPR carries no tested electrical rating, and this is not an insulated tool. Isolate the circuit, prove it dead with a two-pole tester, then work.
