Three millimetres of blade width on a 150mm shaft — the same small tip as the shorter driver in this range, on a longer blade, and length is the only thing that changes.
Length buys reach, and that is worth more than it sounds. Small slotted screws frequently sit at the bottom of a recess, behind a panel, inside a housing or down a tube, and the limit is not the screw but whether the driver can get to it with the handle still in your hand. Fifty extra millimetres often decides whether a job needs the equipment dismantled first.
What length does not buy is torque. That is a common misunderstanding worth correcting. The turning force you can apply comes from the diameter of the handle, not the length of the shaft — a fat handle gives more leverage around the axis, a long shaft simply reaches further. So a long thin driver is not a stronger driver, and treating it as one is how shafts get bent.
The blade width remains the specification that matters most in use. On a slotted screw, the blade should very nearly fill the slot: too narrow and the force concentrates in a small area and rounds the slot out, too wide and the blade rides up and out. That is why slotted drivers come in widths at all.
The blade is Cr-V 6150, tempered — a chromium-vanadium spring steel, the chromium providing hardness and wear resistance so the tip does not round off, the vanadium refining the grain for the toughness that stops it chipping. The handle is TPR, moulded thermoplastic rubber that grips in an oily hand.
The buyers are electricians and technicians, appliance and equipment repairers, instrument and machinery fitters, panel builders, maintenance staff, and hardware dealers.
Two habits. Push into the screw as you turn — most cam-out and slot damage comes from turning without axial pressure, and on a long thin blade it is easier to let that pressure slip.
And treat the handle as grip, not insulation. TPR carries no tested electrical rating. Isolate and prove dead before working on any circuit; insulated screwdrivers are a separately certified class of tool. Ask us on WhatsApp for a price.
