The magnetic coils are the immediately useful part. A coil slides over the bit and magnetises the tip, so a screw sticks to it and stays there. That matters more than convenience suggests — starting a screw one-handed, overhead, at arm's length, or down inside a carcase is otherwise a matter of pinching it between finger and thumb and hoping, and it is where dropped screws and pinched fingers come from. Two coils are supplied because they get lost, and because one can stay on a driver while the other is used elsewhere.

The high torque design refers to the bit's geometry and section. Ordinary bits are a compromise: hard enough to hold their tip form, but with a shank that can snap under the sudden loads an impact driver produces. A high torque design manages the transition between tip and shank so the bit twists slightly rather than shearing when it is overloaded — which on a long construction screw driven with an impact driver is the difference between a bit that survives the job and one that breaks off in the recess.

The steel is S2 industrial, hardened and tempered. S2 is a shock-resisting tool steel, which is what a power driver bit must be: spun fast, cammed out repeatedly, and in an impact driver hammered thousands of times a minute.

At PH2 x 65mm this is the most-used size in a practical middle length, ten to a pack.
