The specification worth paying attention to here is the ceramic heater, because it is what separates a glue gun that works from one that frustrates. Traditional guns use a wound wire element, which heats slowly and unevenly and tends to run hot in one spot and cold in another — so the glue at the nozzle is ready while the glue further back is not, and the gun either drips or refuses to feed. A ceramic element, a PTC heater, heats faster and holds a far more even temperature across the melt chamber. In practice that means less waiting after switching on, more consistent flow, and less of the stringing and dripping that makes hot melt glue annoying to work with.
It is rated 60 to 100W, a serious size for a hand glue gun, which is what gives it the melt rate to keep going rather than stalling halfway through a run of beading. Feed is by trigger — each squeeze pushes the stick further into the melt chamber and forces molten glue out of the nozzle — which gives you direct control over how much comes out and when to stop.
The foldaway stand is not a small detail. Molten glue in a gun laid flat on a bench runs out of the nozzle onto whatever is underneath, and the nozzle itself is hot enough to scorch a bench top, mark a work surface or burn a hand reaching past it. A stand that folds out from the body means the gun is always parked correctly rather than only when you remember to look for something to prop it on.
It takes Harden 660372 glue sticks, so buy the sticks alongside it — glue guns and sticks are matched on diameter, and a stick that is too thin slips in the feed while one too thick will not enter at all.
The work: fixing trim, beading and moulding; sealing and strain-relieving cable entries; tacking components while a proper fixing is made; sign, display and exhibition assembly; upholstery and soft furnishing work; packaging and crating; craft, model and school work; and rapid temporary repairs of every kind. Hot melt sets in seconds, which is its great advantage over any adhesive that has to cure.
The buyers are sign and display makers, upholsterers and furniture workshops, electricians and technicians sealing and dressing cable, shopfitters, packing departments, schools and training workshops, and hardware dealers.
Two safety notes that are not formalities. Molten glue is around 180°C and it sticks to skin instantly, which means a burn that continues burning while it cools — run it under cold water and do not try to pull it off. And never leave a hot gun switched on and unattended on a bench. Message us on WhatsApp for a price with a box of 660372 sticks.
