3/4" Air Impact Wrench

That extra torque is bought for a specific reason: truck, bus and trailer wheel nuts, heavy suspension and axle fasteners, agricultural machinery and plant. Those are tightened far harder than car fixings and then corrode in place, and a 1/2" wrench will simply rattle at them without moving them. The larger 3/4" drive is as important as the torque figure — a 1/2" square drive is the weak link at these levels and will twist or snap under 1300 N.m, so the whole tool steps up together.

It uses a twin hammer mechanism, two blows per revolution, which delivers high torque with less vibration and less kick than a single hammer would at this power.

Free speed is 5000rpm, lower than the 1/2" wrench's 7500 — that is normal and expected, since bigger hammers and a heavier anvil turn more slowly. It trades speed for force.

Air demand is where you must be careful: 220L/min (7.7 SCFM) at 6 bar, nearly double the 1/2" wrench. That is a real compressor requirement, and it is sustained demand rather than a brief peak, because loosening a seized nut can take several seconds of continuous hammering. A compressor that cannot keep up leaves the wrench short of air exactly when it is working hardest, and it will feel gutless. The air inlet is 3/8", larger than the 1/2" wrench's 1/4" — and if you feed it through a narrow 5mm hose you will throttle it regardless of what the compressor can do.

At 4.5kg it is a two-handed tool for anything sustained.

As with any impact wrench: use it to remove and to run fasteners down, never to set final torque. Wheel nuts on a heavy vehicle in particular must be torqued properly, and over-tightening stretches studs.
