10M Air Hose (Japanese type)

Polyurethane is the reason to pick this over cheaper rubber or PVC hose. PU stays flexible in the cold, does not go stiff and set into permanent coils, resists oil and abrasion, and is noticeably lighter for its length. A hose that has gone stiff drags at the tool and pulls it out of your hand, and one that has taken a permanent curl kinks on itself and cuts the air off mid-job. Both are the everyday complaints about compressed air, and both are usually the hose.

The 5mm bore is the number to think about hardest, because it is the limit on what this hose can supply. Bore determines flow, and flow is what air tools consume. Ten metres of 5mm hose is entirely appropriate for blow guns, washing guns, tyre inflators, small spray work and light air tools. It is not adequate for a large impact wrench or an HVLP spray gun running continuously — those need 8-11 CFM or more, and pushing that volume down a narrow bore produces a pressure drop at the tool that no compressor setting will fix. If your tool fades under load, the hose is the first thing to check, not the compressor.

Ten metres is the practical length for working around a vehicle, a bench or a small workshop bay without dragging a heavy coil about.

The working pressure range of 14-143psi (1-10kg/cm²) covers everything a normal workshop compressor produces.

It is the Japanese type, matching the quick couplers and plugs in this range so the whole system fits together without adaptors — which is worth insisting on, since mixing coupler types is the usual cause of a persistent hiss at the joint.
