2PCS Quick Plug Set (Japanese, male thread)

A quick-connect air system has two halves: the coupler, which is the socket on the end of the hose, and the plug, which screws into the tool and pushes into the coupler. This set is plugs — the tool side. You screw one into each air tool, and thereafter any tool plugs into any hose in one movement.

The male thread is the specification to check before ordering. It means the plug has an external thread and screws into a female port on the tool, which is the usual arrangement on impact wrenches, blow guns and most air tools. If your tool has a male threaded stub instead, you need the female-thread plugs (683702) rather than these. Getting this wrong is the single most common ordering mistake with air fittings, and the two sets exist precisely because both arrangements are in use.

"Japanese type" is not a description of origin, it is a profile standard. Japanese, European and American quick couplers all look broadly similar and none of them fit each other properly — force a mismatched pair together and you get a permanent hiss, poor flow, or a plug that will not release. Standardise your whole workshop on one type, and this range is Japanese type throughout: the hose, the couplers and these plugs all match.

The 220psi rating is comfortably above what any normal workshop compressor produces, so it is not a limitation in practice.

A practical note: wrap the thread with PTFE tape when you fit a plug. A quick coupler joint that hisses is almost always leaking at the screwed thread rather than at the push-fit, and a leaking joint runs the compressor all day for nothing.
