Decking and structural screws are worth a word because they show why the drive matters. Driving a long screw into hard timber takes sustained torque over many turns, and a cross-head fights you the whole way because its recess is designed to eject the driver at a set torque. Torx has no such wedging action, so the tool stays engaged from start to finish. That is why manufacturers moved long screws to Torx, and it is why a T25 driver of some kind is worth owning even if you never work on vehicles.

The T-handle form suits repetitive work particularly well. Both hands on the crossbar give even torque with nothing tilting the key in the recess; then, once a screw is moving, the shaft rolls between the fingers and it spins out. On a run of fixings that is genuinely faster than an L-key.

Two habits. Seat the key fully before turning, because a Torx key part way in bears on the tips of its six points and will round the recess — one of the very few ways to damage a Torx screw.
