A T10 recess is small, and the six points that carry the load are correspondingly fine. They are the part that fails, and they usually fail by rounding rather than breaking. A T-handle, gripped across the axis with both hands, can apply far more turning force than the L-key most people are used to on a size like this. On the electronics housings, instrument assemblies and small equipment casings where T10 is used, the fastener threads into plastic or thin alloy and the thread will give up long before the key does.

So use the T-handle at this size for the control it offers rather than the torque. Its real advantage on small work is that the crossbar keeps the key square in the recess — an L-key applies force from one side and tries to tilt the tip, which on a shallow small recess is exactly how it rounds.
