The soft grip is the specification difference and it addresses a real problem. Adjustable wrenches are pulled hard, and they are pulled hard by hands that are frequently wet, oily or covered in jointing compound. A bare steel handle in that condition is difficult to hold securely, and the natural response is to grip harder — which is tiring, and which does nothing about the fact that the hand can still slip. A moulded soft grip gives a surface that holds, so the force you apply is controlled.

At ten inches that matters more than at eight, because the tool has more leverage and you are more often using it near your full effort.

The jaw opens wider than an 8" too, taking larger plumbing unions, machinery nuts and plant fittings.

The technique that separates a rounded nut from a clean one is the same at every size and worth repeating. Wind the movable jaw fully down until it is snug on the flats — slack is what allows the jaw to splay under load, and a splayed jaw grips the corners of a nut rather than its faces. And pull in the direction of the movable jaw, so the load goes into the fixed jaw and the frame rather than through the worm screw mechanism, which is the weakest part of any adjustable wrench.
