Something worth saying plainly at 19mm, because it may save a customer money. If you are working on fasteners this size regularly rather than occasionally, an L shaped key is not the tool to build the job around. The force you can apply through a bent bar with one hand is limited, and it is applied off to one side of the fastener, which pushes the tip as well as turning it. For repeated work at this diameter the better arrangement is a hex bit socket on a heavy drive, used with a long bar for breaking loose and with a torque wrench for setting, because the force then runs in line with the screw and can be measured. We stock the sockets and the torque wrenches, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a key you will end up fighting with.

Where the key still wins is access and cost. A bit and socket assembly is long, and there are plenty of places on a machine where that combination will not go but a plain key will. Many workshops keep the large singles for exactly those spots and use sockets everywhere else.

If the key is what you have, then the basics carry the whole job: clean the socket right out, bottom the key completely, keep it in line, and stop pulling if it starts to feel as though it is climbing out of the recess. That climbing feeling is the corners beginning to give, and continuing is what turns a tight fastener into a drilled one.
